The 2024 Hebei International Industrial Design Week has successfully concluded. During the seven-day event, the Korea Institute for Humanities and Social Sciences (KIHSS) stood out as part of the "Korean Design" themed exhibition at the Hebei International Industrial Design Innovation Achievement Exhibition. With its unique design concepts and showcase, KIHSS became one of the highlights of the exhibition.
This exhibition focused on the practical requirements of developing new productive forces and the tasks of advancing new industrialization. It featured six specialized exhibition areas, with a primary emphasis on showcasing the industrial application of innovative industrial design achievements. The event gathered 358 domestic and international companies, displaying over 3,300 design masterpieces from countries including South Korea, Germany, France, Japan, Canada, as well as regions such as Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei, Hong Kong, Macau, Taiwan, Shanghai, and Wuhan. The exhibition attracted significant attention from designers, experts, scholars, and industry professionals from around the world.
During the event, KIHSS highlighted its unique blend of humanities and art with AI technology, demonstrating the high degree of collaboration between humanities and social sciences research and the modern industrial sector. The exhibited works cleverly combined traditional humanistic thought with cutting-edge technology, emphasizing the wide application of AI technology in artistic creation, intelligent design, and social science research. This cross-disciplinary innovation not only showcased the crucial role of culture and technology in driving global design change but also provided profound theoretical support and practical examples for industrial transformation and future innovation.
At the event, Pradyumna Vyas, the incoming president of the World Design Organization (WDO), stated, "In the face of globalization challenges, design can play an even more significant role. We will continue to support the development of industrial design in China, build more diversified communication platforms, promote the gathering and sharing of global design resources, and drive the realization of design education and industrial practices in Xiong'an New Area." Vyas's speech further affirmed the global significance and impact of the Hebei International Industrial Design Week in the global design field.
