On 30 July 2021, an extraordinary general meeting was held and a resolution was passed to change the name of the Hong Kong Federation of Design and Creative Industries (FHKDCI).
The Association believes that it will better represent member organisations from different fields and areas of Hong Kong's creative industries, and advocates to serve as one of the important fulcrums of the "Creative Window in the Greater Bay Area" to gather strength and voice for the creative industry to voice a stronger voice and influence in line with the national development strategies of the "Belt and Road" and the "Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area". Since 2011, the Association has played an even more important role in coordinating projects, facilitating consultation and collaboration between professionals in different design fields and other industries and partners. In 2017, the Association took a solid step towards the implementation of the "Shenzhen-Hong Kong Design and Creative Industrial Park" in Shenzhen. The Hong Kong Federation of Design and Creative Industries will strive to help its members gain new knowledge and expand their cooperation and development with different cities through exchanges and programmes in the coming years.
